Shreeja Methodology

Engage

Regular football practice, attending academic classes, commuting in public buses, trips to Kolkata, playing football tournaments and participating in picnics have a direct positive influence on the girls. Moreover, we request the parents to participate in football practices, various social events, and parent-teacher meets to motivate their children further. These have opened up the girls to a great extent which has facilitated their effective participation in our out-of-school education/learning process.

Educate

Shreeja India offers out-of-school learning for FGL girls in rural India. We believe that good mental health is equally important for the holistic development of girls and for their mainstreaming into society. We organize regular mental health workshops to help the girls deal with their emotions, enhance their attention and motivation, increase their mindfulness among other benefits. These workshops also help in identifying children who need special attention which is then rendered to them. We use play therapy as an advance step to assure mental wellbeing of the children so that they can maximize their potentials in the long run.

Enrich

All Shreeja India’s skills development programs are local needs-based and not supply oriented from outside. Shreeja Nutri-Homes project does not supply fish to the beneficiaries but helps the beneficiaries to fish themselves. Being a community-centric organization, Shreeja India works at the grass-roots level with stakeholders and local community. We strongly believe that we can enrich individuals with various skills to make them self-reliant.  In our Vidushee program, which we started during the pandemic period Shreeja senior girls were quickly trained enabling them to start teaching the younger kids in their own villages without having to go out – a perfect example of ‘paying it forward.’
