In a short span of only a few years, I've personally seen the Shreeja team take a sports-based model of development and convert it into a reality, with the young girls in West Bengal! Personally, to me this was a unique and sustainable way of making social impact, while also equipping the girls with life skills like leadership, team work, positive energy, conflict management at a young age, and through sports. Just to see the huge progress that the Shreeja students are making in their studies, sports and life is truly heart-warming and it's been my privilege to contribute in any small way I can to keep the journey alive and growing. Kudos to the Shreeja team and look forward to much more success of the Shreeja students.

I came to know about Shreeja India from Shib Shankar Dasgupta. I was very impressed that Shreeja was planning to work with Adivasi girls. Girls are always the disadvantaged group in our society and Adivasi girls even more so. I was even more impressed when I heard about Shreeja’s sports-based education program. In our society, sports (especially outdoor sports) is an activity rarely associated with girls. Through this program, Shreeja has been able to instil a lot of confidence among these girls. Success in the sports arena is also now translating into academic achievements. These girls now feel that they are ready to take on any challenge and fight against social problems like early marriage, human trafficking, etc.
Shreeja girls have already achieved a lot and I am sure that they will scale new heights in the coming days. I feel privileged to be associated with Shreeja India and wish it all success.

When my friend and colleague Hari Dasgupta first told me about Shreeja, I felt an instant connection with both the cause and the way Shreeja was going about it. As a father of a 14- year old daughter who is a keen soccer player, I have seen her grow in confidence and maturity through play. I felt that the approach of learning through sports involvement was an innovative one, and one worth supporting for girls who are much less privileged than her. And having worked with Hari in Finance at P&G, I was confident that the operation would be run well. Indeed, it has been heartening to learn of the progress the Shreeja girls have made in both their sports and their education over the last few years, and that Shreeja continues to innovate with the latest "Vidushi" program.
